Lifton Bolt tensioners are designed to apply load on the bolt by directly stretching it to its required load by using a hydraulic Cylinder (Load Cell), Threaded Puller and rotating the nut rotator with Tommy bar until the nut firmly tightened against the joint face. Then the stretched load will be released, the tension on the bolt (residual load) will retain in the clamp length of the bolt, because the bolt is not returning to its original length due to the tightened nut.
